Antique Archaelogical Revival Earrings, ca 1860
Our Notes
Europe between 1850 and 1870 was a time where referencing Classical history in decorative arts was considered to be a sign of intelligence and style. These earrings’ elongated shape, and delicate granulation are considered archaeological revival. The addition of gold fringe was also at the height of fashion in jewelry, and fringe earrings came in a variety of forms, sometimes all gold, and other times they centered on stones and enamel, taking inspiration from Etruscan and Hellenistic jewelry. The gentle movement on the ear is so delicate and effective, that no sparkle is needed.
England, ca 1860

Care
As our jewelry is worn, patinas will evolve, further personalizing them to each collector. Due to the nature of foiled jewelry, care should be taken in order to keep Larkspur & Hawk jewelry from becoming harmed. A few tips:
- Remove jewelry when applying lotions, soaps and perfume
- Remove jewelry before immersing hands in cleaning solvents or liquids
- Please note that oxidation may eventually wear off of rings, then return naturally
