Historically Inspired for the Modern Day

The World of Larkspur & Hawk

The Art of the Modern Heirloom

Larkspur & Hawk sits at the intersection of historical character and modern ingenuity. What began in 2000 as a premiere destination for period jewels has evolved into a design studio dedicated to extraordinary collections that resurrect the radiance of once-forgotten techniques for today's collector.

Historical Inspiration

Inspired by the Past | Curated for the Present

The brand’s foundations are built on a deep reverence for the decorative arts. Drawing from museum-level scholarship and years of curatorial experience, Larkspur & Hawk bridges the gap between eras. Every piece created and every antique sourced is a testament to a meticulous search for beauty, provenance, and the unmistakable hand of the past.

“As a jewelry detective, my passion is the hunt - uncovering rare antiques with a living history and translating that same character into my own modern designs. I believe the most compelling collections are those where the past and present exist together in the same jewelry box.”

Emily Satloff,
Founder, Designer, & Curator

Meet Emily

The Storyteller Behind the Brand

Surrounded by arts and antiques as a child, Emily studied the history of decorative arts at The Cooper-Hewitt and Sotheby’s before working with historical objects as a museum curator. Here, she gained access to pieces spanning a breadth of periods and mediums, opening her eyes to a history of material culture few get to experience. Her passion for antique jewelry spurred the first iteration of Larkspur & Hawk when Emily began to curate and deal her own collection of period jewels that displayed her singular taste. In 2008, it was time to design her own pieces.

Emily’s eye is not drawn to flawless surfaces, but to the patina of history, searching for the rare combination of narrative, provenance, and the tactile evidence of the past. This deep historical expertise has made the brand a trusted resource for both private collectors and the screen. Most recently, Larkspur & Hawk collaborated with the production of Netflix’s Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, providing jewelry that reflected the regal, historical accuracy of the era.

Our Signature Technique

The Art of the Glow

Inspired by the romanticism of the Georgian era, our signature jewelry utilizes a distinctive foiling technique to create a captivating play of light and color.

In the 18th century, when life was lived by the flicker of candlelight, metallic foils were used to enhance a gemstone’s natural features. At Larkspur & Hawk, we have evolved this tradition into a modern innovation. In our New York studio, vibrant silks and textured foils are meticulously placed by hand behind colorless white quartz. The result is a stone that shifts with the light, offering a depth and "glow" that is entirely unique to the brand.

The Curator's Archive & Advisory

Because our heart remains in the archives, Larkspur & Hawk offers a meticulously scouted collection of antique jewelry. Emily traverses the globe to find pieces that tell a story - from the industrial sparkle of 18th-century Cut Steel to the character of Victorian treasures.

A Collector's Instinct

Emily doesn’t just look for perfection, she looks for distinctive hallmarks of bygone eras.

Our Philosophy: Adored, Not Precious

Whether it is a pair of earrings designed this year or a brooch crafted two centuries ago, the philosophy of Larkspur & Hawk remains the same: Jewelry is only truly beautiful when it is worn. We believe in the "fancy china" philosophy, the idea that the most exquisite objects in our lives should be part of our daily narrative, not tucked away for a "someday" that never comes.

The Everyday Heirloom

We invite you to wear these pieces with confidence. Don't save them for someday. Someday is today.
