Antique Victorian Tulip Brooch, ca 1900
Our Notes
Turn-of-the-century naturalism favored lightness and graphic clarity over Victorian weight. This Belle Époque brooch captures that evolution: a single tulip built with a subtle gradient of pavé-set rubies and diamonds, paired with an antique diamond stem and emerald-set leaves mounted in period-typical platinum-topped gold.
The piece retains its original gilt-stamped leather case from Wartski, London—the court jewelers established in 1882 and renowned for their Fabergé work. The fitted box provides distinct archival context, marking it as a exceptionally preserved survival of Edwardian-era retail history.
England, ca 1900
